Gladiators' fights within the walls of a medieval Colosseum

In the small city of El Jem in the south of Tunisia there is one of the most impressive monuments of the Roman epoch, the third in size amphitheatre of the world with capacities up to 35,000 seats. The energy of this place is great, the amphitheatre even served as set-design for the famous film "Gladiator". Well-preserved "African Colosseum" strikes the imagination of visitors not only with its magnificent appearance: its acoustic properties are so excellent that every year they organize an international festival of symphonic and jazz music there. El Jem is included into the list of the world cultural heritage of the U.N.O.

For one day that very place, outstanding in its historical significance, will be an arena for a fascinating competition of our teams. First of all, from the common group a team is to be formed which includes persons with roles of rulers, guardians, ladies charming for whom all the victories are to be achieved and spectators on the stands.

All the others are to be divided into teams - soon they will show their mastery on the arena of this great Colosseum. The program provides both team combats and individual fights. Among the competitions there are chariot races, artistic riding on Arab horses, fisticuffs, archery, javelin throwing and other contests - not less difficult and exciting.

Just before the competitions, teams will visit a theatre performance based on myths of Ancient Greece with professional actors. This beautiful performance is a tribute to the tradition because such performances have been organized before gladiators fights since olden days. Spectators will watch serious dramas with Zeus, Heracles, Prometheus and other gods and heroes well-known to everybody from the school times.

To take part in the gladiators' fights special training is not necessary. Organizers guarantee safety of these competitions under the condition of keeping all the instructions and safety measures.

Besides, a doctor will be at charge during all the tournaments to provide medical aid in the case of necessity.

Outside the imposing Colosseum, participants will have an original dinner. It is organized in the style of the competitions, almost in camp surroundings - on the grass, in the shadow of trees: lambs on spits, fresh vegetables, olives, baked potato and warm home bread. To restore forces there will be dates and to improve moods there will be young Tunisian wine and famous legmi - fresh palm juice.

And when dusk comes participants of this fascinating adventure will see one more striking performance: under the shining stars and in the light of burning torches on the arena one of the most popular groups of North Africa will present its jazz compositions.

Gladiators' fights and jazz orchestra performance may be filmed with digital cameras. Organizers guarantee professional shooting and montage. Also, it is possible to make copies of DVD-disks in Tunisia according the quantity of participants of the tour.

Minimal quantity of participants is 150 persons; maximal one is not limited. Participants are to be divided into optimal number of teams, not less than 50 persons in a team.

The total price of each tour is calculated depending on the included options and on the quantity of participants.
