Recent years Hammanet by right has consolidated its position as one of the most event-trigger centers of the Mediterranean Region. There are several reasons for it.
First of all, it is a wonderful disposition of the city thanks to which there is good connection with two international airports of the country - in Tunis and Monastir. The third airport in Tunisia will be opened in 2009 - just by Hammamet. The opening of such an airport, beyond any doubt, will contribute to the further popularization of the resort.
Secondly, the development of the new tourist zone of Yasmine Hammamet has privileged the city for inviting big groups coming to congresses, conferences, incentive-tours, exhibitions and salons.
Beside hotels, there are two big congress-centres at the resort which are available for a conference of any level of complication:

"Medina Mediterranea" is a new modern complex in Yasmine Hammamet stylized after a medieval town; it would impress everybody, even the most experienced guest. On the territory of 10 hectare there are whole quarters with numerous cafe and hookah places, restaurants and discotheques. Souvenirs are sold here not in separate shops but on the special street of souvenir boutiques. There are also a cinema, a casino and an entertainment park "Carthage Land" which is opened even at night during summer period.
On the central square of the complex, on the Erakhba Square, they can organize a gala-dinner in the open air for up to 2 000 guests. There are regular concerts of famous Tunisisan and foreign musicians; such concerts are shot by the popular French musical channel M6.
Built in the 15th cent., over the ruins of the fortress of the 9th cent., the old Caserne of Legionaries is an exotic spot for a gala-dinner or a special party. The inner yard of the Caserne stores up to 400 persons.
In 1920-s, a Romanian aristocrat has built an unusual villa in the Moresque style in Hammamet which is by right considered to be one of the loveliest spots in the world. Up to 1960-s, the villa was a popular place of meetings of the cultural elite. Now, in the garden of the villa, where they created a Roman theatre, or by a pool covered with marble, excellent parties for 150-200 guests are organized.
15 km from Hammamet, there is a great tent of "Douar Sidi" which is opened for groups interested in a special party with dinner and wonderful performance: charming dancers, fire-eaters and brave riders are there. The tent stores up to 1 000 persons.
